These terms cover using this website and coming to our events. Nothing here affects the rights you have as a consumer under Italian and EU law.

About us

This site is run by Book Nook Lane, an English-language bookshop for children at Corso XXV Aprile 44, 21026 Gavirate (VA), Italy. Contact: booknooklane@gmail.com.

Using this website

We keep the information here as accurate as we can, but event details can change at short notice. Please treat times, dates and age ranges as a guide, and check with us if you are travelling specially.

The text, logo and illustrations on this site belong to Book Nook Lane. You are welcome to share links to the site. Please ask before reusing the artwork.

This website does not sell anything and does not take payments.

Booking a place at an event

Places are limited and allocated in the order bookings arrive.
Booking a place is free unless the event page says otherwise.
A booking is confirmed when you receive our confirmation, not when you submit the form.
If you cannot come, please tell us. Places are genuinely scarce and someone else would like yours.

If we change or cancel an event

Occasionally we have to move or cancel a session — illness, weather, or too few bookings. If that happens we will contact everyone booked, using the email address given at sign-up, as early as we can. Where an event was paid for, we will refund it in full.

Children at our events

Children remain the responsibility of the adult who brings them. Our events are not a childcare service and our staff do not supervise children on their own. Please stay in the shop for the duration of the session unless we have agreed otherwise for a specific event.

Please let us know at sign-up about any allergy, additional need or anything else that would help us make the session work well for your child.

We may ask a visitor to leave if behaviour is unsafe or is spoiling the session for other children. We would much rather never have to.

Photographs

We sometimes take photographs at events for our own website and social media. We will always ask the accompanying adult first, and it is completely fine to say no — it will not affect your child taking part. If you have said yes and later change your mind, email us and we will remove the photograph.

Liability

We take reasonable care to run our events safely and to keep the shop a safe place to be. We are not responsible for personal belongings left on the premises, or for loss or damage caused by someone not following these terms or the reasonable instructions of our staff. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by Italian law. If you are a consumer, you may bring proceedings in the courts of the place where you live, and you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer rules that apply there.

Changes to these terms

If we update these terms we will change the date at the top of this page. The version published here at the time you book is the one that applies to your booking.

Prenotare un posto a un evento

I posti sono limitati e assegnati in ordine di arrivo delle iscrizioni.
L'iscrizione è gratuita salvo diversa indicazione nella pagina dell'evento.
La prenotazione è confermata quando ricevi la nostra conferma, non al momento dell'invio del modulo.
Se non puoi venire, faccelo sapere: i posti sono davvero pochi e qualcun altro sarebbe felice di prenderlo.

Se modifichiamo o annulliamo un evento

Talvolta dobbiamo spostare o annullare un incontro, per malattia, maltempo o iscrizioni insufficienti. In tal caso avviseremo tutti gli iscritti all'indirizzo email indicato, con il maggior preavviso possibile. Se l'evento era a pagamento, rimborseremo l'intero importo.

I bambini ai nostri eventi

I bambini restano sotto la responsabilità dell'adulto che li accompagna. I nostri eventi non sono un servizio di custodia e il nostro personale non vigila i bambini da solo. Ti chiediamo di restare in libreria per tutta la durata dell'incontro, salvo diverso accordo per un evento specifico.

Segnalaci al momento dell'iscrizione eventuali allergie, bisogni particolari o qualsiasi cosa possa aiutarci a rendere l'incontro piacevole per tuo figlio.

Possiamo chiedere a un visitatore di allontanarsi se il comportamento risulta pericoloso o rovina l'incontro per gli altri bambini. Preferiamo di gran lunga non doverlo mai fare.

Fotografie

A volte scattiamo fotografie durante gli eventi per il nostro sito e i social. Chiediamo sempre prima all'adulto accompagnatore ed è del tutto legittimo dire di no: non influirà sulla partecipazione del bambino. Se hai acconsentito e poi cambi idea, scrivici e rimuoveremo la fotografia.

Responsabilità

Adottiamo ogni ragionevole cura per svolgere gli eventi in sicurezza e mantenere la libreria un luogo sicuro. Non rispondiamo degli effetti personali lasciati nei locali, né di perdite o danni causati dal mancato rispetto di questi termini o delle ragionevoli indicazioni del personale. Nulla in questi termini limita la nostra responsabilità per morte o lesioni personali dovute a nostra negligenza, o per quanto altro non sia limitabile per legge.

Legge applicabile

Questi termini sono regolati dalla legge italiana. Se sei un consumatore, puoi agire davanti al giudice del luogo in cui risiedi e conservi la tutela delle norme imperative a protezione dei consumatori ivi applicabili.

Modifiche ai termini

In caso di aggiornamento modificheremo la data in cima alla pagina. Alla tua prenotazione si applica la versione pubblicata al momento in cui la effettui.
